Easy Question

You can also put the folder in a sub folder in the site and put a different Application.cfm file in the subfolder. When CF executes a page, it looks for that file in the current folder. When not found, it continues to move up directories until it hits the Root folder of the site where one...

OH yeah sorry. I forgot I pulled that from the form, not my cffile code. I have been using that to make a standard generic email me form that I copy from site to site. Mike Pura Vida - "The Pure Life" - Visit Costa Rica www.rovercam.com

require help with publishing a site!!

They are probably talking about something like this. First off, the private folder. With front page extentions, the "_private" folder is set to not allow people to download your database through a simple request to the server. http://yoursite.com/_private/your_db.mdb would not allow me...

    Free Forum Code

sourceforge.net had one that was really thorough. It was written with the fusebox methodology. I wasn't slick enough to get it working, but its full featured and looked really nice.. The one on gotocode is kinda weak, its more of a threaded system than a real BBS. I can't find the one right now...

ISP's hosting Cold fusion MX in the UK

I was a customer of Iarna.com for some time. I am certain they are on top of it, but I do not know for sure if they support MX. I switched though because of an issue with DNS servers and my site going offline for days at a time in for the entire United States. They said they fixed it... but I...

    Read Excel file

Sometimes you have to drop it to a csv file. I couldn't get a similar situation to work for the life of me. Then you import it into the database and do it that way. To ease the process, my friend wrote a little program to do it for me so I could update the file without repeating the steps.

How to get mail to AOL using CFMAIL?

Im no expert here, but I have an idea. Send a few messages to an aol member and have then copy you the whole info from the message or send it back so you can look on the insides of it. Then try and match the cfmail / mailparam tags to match it. Maybe that works.. Also, maybe someone tagged...

Book for Integrating Javascript with Coldfusion????

i learned one thing when i was doing my dhtml scroller here: http://www.solas.cc/surf/main.cfm I had to put the whole cf function all in a line with on carraige returns or nothing.. no whitespace. cf likes to generate whitespace, which will crash you javascript, as it did mine for some time...

    CF vs. Frontpage

Try crystaltech.com .. they have reasonable pricing for a shopping cart. If they need cheap payment processing, try 2checkout.com its a onetime fee.. higher % they take on the cut, BUT .. i did the math and until you do about $3,000 / mo in transactions it comes out cheaper than leasing a merch...
