Easy Question
You can also put the folder in a sub folder in the site and put a different Application.cfm file in the subfolder. When CF executes a page, it looks for that file in the current folder. When not found, it continues to move up directories until it hits the Root folder of the site where one... -

They are probably talking about something like this. First off, the private folder. With front page extentions, the "_private" folder is set to not allow people to download your database through a simple request to the server. http://yoursite.com/_private/your_db.mdb would not allow me... -
Which server & where do I get it?
there is a way to install IIS on xp home. You can find it on 15seconds.com I tried it twice. They mention you need the advanced server disk. I got it working with a windows2000 pro disk. Let me know if you have trouble, I should be able to help. -

sourceforge.net had one that was really thorough. It was written with the fusebox methodology. I wasn't slick enough to get it working, but its full featured and looked really nice.. The one on gotocode is kinda weak, its more of a threaded system than a real BBS. I can't find the one right now... -

Are you trying to host sites or develop? If your developing, can you pull up iis? If so just setup a virtual directory (right click the folder that holds the index file of your site > properties > websharing > name it site1) than pull it up //localhost/site1 -

Read Excel file
Sometimes you have to drop it to a csv file. I couldn't get a similar situation to work for the life of me. Then you import it into the database and do it that way. To ease the process, my friend wrote a little program to do it for me so I could update the file without repeating the steps. -

convert dbase tables to ACCESS
i am faced with a silimar issue.. however, i have a program that will output a dbase file.. but its a list of properties that the agency would like to update once a week. I just found one that helps from people to have access to your database files. If you webserver supports FP extensions, the _private directory on windows servers wont let people grab it through a web browser. MC -
How to get mail to AOL using CFMAIL?
Im no expert here, but I have an idea. Send a few messages to an aol member and have then copy you the whole info from the message or send it back so you can look on the insides of it. Then try and match the cfmail / mailparam tags to match it. Maybe that works.. Also, maybe someone tagged... -

i learned one thing when i was doing my dhtml scroller here: http://www.solas.cc/surf/main.cfm I had to put the whole cf function all in a line with on carraige returns or nothing.. no whitespace. cf likes to generate whitespace, which will crash you javascript, as it did mine for some time... -
