Error: "Error opening A:\GHSTWALK.EXE for write" when launching Ghost Walker
Situation:
After starting a computer from a floppy boot disk you see the error message, "Error opening A:\GHSTWALK.EXE for write" when attempting to run Ghost Walker.
Solution:
This error message...
1. Update the virus definitions.
2. Restart the computer in Safe mode.
3. Run a full system scan, and delete all files that are detected as a virus.
4. Run the Bugbear removaltool in safe mode
5. Delete all value's added by any virus from the registry key...
The same problem occurs on our windows 2000 server.
When i make the xpprof machine a member of a workgroup and then join the domain again the problem is solved for about 24 hours.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. double-click Storage,double-click Disk management(local),Right-click CDROM partition and choose change drive letter.
