I know this is how Arcserve works, but I was wondering if there was a work around. I am trying to restore a file and I am currently missing one of the tapes from the job. The data is not on the missing tape. It will ask for that tape when trying to do the restore.
Did you check who you delegated control to in System Manager? Make sure the everyone group is in there. Also you should check in the server properties in system manager and go to security. Make sure the everyone group doesn't have the send as and recieve as checked.

I was trying to backup some Windows 2k servers from our Novell Arcserve 7 backup system. It will backup the server fine, but when I try a restore it says that I have an invalid session password. I didn't put any password on the session. Does anybody know a fix for this?

I had some datbase problems and I reinitialized the DB. Then I merged the tape in that I needed. I was then able to restore at folder level. Thanks for all of the help.

Where are your transaction log files stored at? If they are on another drive, then try to delete the files that are located in the C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA folder. Then try mounting the store.
Peping, no I am not backing up or scanning drive M. I was told never to do that. The brick levels are wiping out some registry keys needed to perform the mailbox management. I currently stopped doing the brick levels and we are now using exmerge for brick level backups.

Did you try to delete the transaction logs on the new server that you restored the databases to? I had a similar problem like this and I had to delete the logs in order for it to mount.
