Been thinking about this for a while. I have a few directories that I need to take a file count under each one.
I am trying to figure out how to have a script automatically change to each directory and count the files in that directory.
So far I'm limited to hard coding each directory into the...
Microsoft Outlook 2000 (with all latest patches), seems
to just crash out of the blue, pointing the its finger
to the 'ntdll.dll' file for the reason.
On top of the crashing issue, it takes out my VPN and
network connection.
Has anyone else had this happen, or know what might be
causing this...
Unable to find anything on this entry in the StartUp
for WindowsXP Pro (or any version of Windows for that
matter).
Anyone have a clue to what it is?
Also related to it is the startup list entry:
xkcyotstfk
I have disabled it for now until I get some information
on it.
Thanks.

I am encountering an issue when loading Outlook Express 6 up on a Windows 98 system.
Outlook appears to be loading, but stops dead in its tracks when loading. All I am presented with is the tool bar, and blank white work area (where the folders and emals should be). It sits there until I give...
Ah Ha!
The its time to learn a bit of PCL.
Enter 'lsvirprt' and then choose your
printer number.
You can list all the attributes of the queue and make any changes.

Does anyone know where I could find info to see if these
two play nice together?
Having some network slowdown issues / system issues and
trying to find if they are certified, if there are any
fix packs for either one, etc.
Thank you,
-Astrotrain
Create a virtual printer.
You will need the BOS of 4.3 with you, and the IP to the networked HP printer.
Add the printer's IP into the host table.
As root issue the command "smitty mkvirprt".
Choose "HPJetDirect" and it will walk you through the
install. If you don't have...
I am a bit confused on creating an exclude list for Sysback.
I want Sysback to backup the directory "buckets", but not back up the data within those directories.
And another question, is it possible to exclude directories from the 'rootvg'. I have some DB2 databases in the...
I hear there is a new tape drive being release from IBM called "Jaguar".
It is supposed to be cheaper and faster
then the 3590 drives.
Does anyone know the specs or have any
links to obtain the specs on it?
Thanks,
-Astrotrain
Yes, the version is determined on the date stamped at the top of each CD in the set.
Another important tip, once you get your BOS set, make a "work" copy and store the original in a safe place. :)
According to IBM, the support for 4.3.x
will be ending as of 12/31/2003. So you
may...
I performed that procedure, and the desktop fails to load. It just sits there with a blank screen.
From another terminal I do see that the user logged in and the .ksh was executed.
Is there a way to allow the desktop to load, then auto open a window with the .ksh executed inside?
Thanks
IMHO:
Keep the paging space on the 'rootvg' (hdisk0). That is the first load and mount.
Otherwise you may experience a system crash due to no or very little paging space for the system to work with while booting.
Also it is wise to keep the paging space on local hdisks. Do not throw them out...
