I was wondering if anybody knew how to find the command to send to a printer to switch it to bold print for a couple of lines of a document. I know this is different for each printer, I have an Aficio 250, but I am unable to find the flag that does this for this printer. Any ideas on where to look or what the command or flag is??

hi,

what you can try thats if you got the manual for the printer
is look at the printer codes for bold e.g esc(s0B
and insert the code at the beginning of the text or file or the piece of text you want in bold and then look at the code to set it back to normal.

The other thing is what is your printer emulating i.e. hp
or other , becuase normal standard is hp and then look at hp printer codes.

You can play with the PCPL language
settings by issuing a 'lsvirprt' command
and then looking at the definitions of the
printer.
