When you set the NICs to 100/Full, did you also do it for your switch. Having the switch set to auto and the nic set to anything but auto sometimes causes spradic communication problems.

I would also check to see if you have MS Outlook installed (not Outlook express). It could have been installed during an Office install - sometimes it wrecks havoc with the GW's addressbook. If it is there, uninstall it Outlook, and reinstall GW.
Try to find out what is causing the error message and restart that service. Had a similar problems and the only way to stop the message is to restart the service (or reboot the server, which did the same thing).
Try turning off file caching in the advance options in the Novell Client properties under advanced. This should solve your network utilization problems. I would also uninstall the Client for Microsoft Networks in network properties. This seems to cause problems also.
