Actually, all you need a port network growth cabinet and TDM cable. The reason you don't see a cable between your A & B cabinets is becasue the TDM cable is routed behind the rear face plates on the back of the PBX. You would remove the TDM terminator from the B carrier, move it to the new C...
Did you assign the DNIS service to all the channels on the voicemail? When you run monitor, are all channels inserv? Did you run monitor and call each individual port to make sure the ports are ordered correctly (Calling 5030 takes port 0 off hook...etc)?
You will open Internet Explorer, put in the IP address for the S8500, log in with your login/password, click on "Launch Maintenance Web Interface", use the left scroll bar to scroll down to the "Security" section, click on "Firewall", the first page that comes up will have check boxes for "input...
Thanks dwalin. Good tip.
sathya1712,
It sounds like you have a software problem which may need to be addressed by Avaya. One other thing you can try is to access the Communication Manager through the web browser. Open an Interenet Explorer window and type in the address of the S8300...
I have integrated a point to point T1 from a G3si to a channel bank, which then broke the channels out into fx trunks which where routed into a Mitel key system. Worked fine. I suppose you could drop in a media gateway with mm711 modules to provide the analog dialtone and route them into a...
You should be able to establish a telnet session to each sever, login, and use either the "sat" or "autosat" command at the Linux prompt to enter the Communication Manager software. The terminal type you need to use is "w2ktt". After the S8300 has been upgraded to the same load as the S8500...
Avaya traces it's roots back to Alexander Graham Bell and has long been the market leader throughout the world. AT&T spun off Lucent, Lucent spun off Avaya. AT&T also spun off (or more accuratly, sold off) Nortel.
That being said, Avaya is still the market leader, but Cisco is rapidly closing...
Is the S8300/G350 an LSP (Local Survivable Processor)? If so, upgrading the main server (S8500) without upgrading the LSP server (S8300) could result in translations not synchonizing between servers. This would only be service affecting if the remote site with the LSP lost connectivity to the...
Does this only happen with a specific 800 number? Are all the other T1s you tried the same carrier?
If the answer to both those questions is yes, then I agree that your carrier having a translation problem is the most likely cause.
There are also some toll free numbers that will only accept...
No, you have to buy it now. Every upgrade and installation I do has to have it as a line item on the purchase order or the customer does not get it. I think is costs around $750.00 for latest version of Integrated Management Basic if you are not purchasing it as part of an upgrade/installation.
Unless this is a brand new install/upgrade and you are applying the authentication file for the first time, you won't get dadmin. The license file only enables the dadmin, you also have to dl and install the authentication file.
I knew Avaya was heavily cracking down on Gray Market, but I did not know they where proseucting individuals (as is their right under their software use terms). I have seen them go after business hacking the init on PBXs though. Be careful.
The IOLAN device is the stadard that I have used when supporting old call accounting systems and other serial interface adjuncts. You should be able to find a one port model between $200 - $250, or a two port between $250 - $300. They can be a little tricky to get configured, but work reliably...
What release and processor are you running (ie CM 1.3, CM 2.2, G3si, S8500, S8300, etc.)? Do you mean 2420 phones? Is it all the phones on the system doing this, or just phones of this model type? What model circuit pack/media module are the phones plugged into?
I hesitate to get involved, but I feel the need to warn you of the risk involved. Once you crack a switch with the INIT password and re-option the PBX, you violate software use agreement and Avaya considers it a "Gray" system. Avaya will not assist you with any issues on a Gray system, put it...
Intra-Switch Communication (Multiconnect):
Call set-up and transport is TDM bus on the same port network. Call set-up and transport and trasport between port networks is still TDM bus extended over fiber links.
I do need to clarify that all of this activity in both multiconnect and IP connect...
