see how wybenormal set up his access lists..he just added the word "log" behind the access list command. that will do it. handling access lists (ACLs) you need to keep in mind that
1) they will be processed in which order they are put in
2) there is an invisible "deny any...
I have experienced the same problem on a 1700series router which was configured for VPN - I also had a default route set, and debugging did not help too much, because I could not check on the router 50 times a day to see if the ISDN was established for unknown reasons. What I did was, I set an...
How can you prioritize OSPF update packets when they are not being sent or transmitted to the router but generated by the router itself??? I don't think this is possible. I know I could implement custom queueing placing all high bandwidth protocols like FTP in a medium queue, however, I really...
Hi
we are experiencing the following problem:
On a 2611 router with a DSL WAN link, the OSPF Hello packets are being discarded when the bandwidth is highly utilized, if this happens back to back, the OSPF link is being anounced as dead and data transfer is no longer possible. i.e. if the...
they should try to give you a hardware loop from the modem/ntu in London. also, i would change the config from down when looped to default (no down when looped), like this you can ping your own interface. a overseas line runs across several different components and hubsites. if and e2e test of...
once you hook up to routers back to back you need to set the clock rate on one of them, regardless if you use hdlc, ppp etc. cause one has to be dce and one has to be dte. i have no idea how it works with the config maker but on the cli its done quite easy
if your are refering to the repair option of winxp pro, yes, i have done that plenty of times and it leaves your files, programms, and settings untouched. it simply corrects win sys files. you will even still have your desktop pic. how to do it?
easy: boot your pc with the winxp cd (or run it as...
actually, i doubt your theory about sabotaging. these companies want to make money and bad media would cleary hinder that and most likely swipe them from the market altogether. it mostly still comes down to the user and not the program. remember the good old norton commander? if folks didnt have...
I had this happen too. I was able to recover the entire volume with runtime's getdataback. I also tried ontracks easyrecovery but getdataback was clearly the winner (and the price is a lot more reasonable). the only problem was to have enough free space on another partition to copy the recovered...
hello cbrcowboy
in order to log onto dalnet you need a irc client...if you are running linux you should already have one in your distribution, like bitchX or kirc. if you are running windows you can download the client from www.mirc.com
on this page you can also read how irc works. its not...
oops ..forgot the invisible deny any any on the bottom of every ACL. without the access-list 102 permit any any, ALL traffic on that interface would have been dropped
the workstations should only have ONE default gateway, which should be the router. and the router needs to know where to route which traffic. the remote router also needs to know the way back to the net where your workstation is.
For all you IRC Fans
#CiscoTrivia on Dalnet is a great way to have fun and study a little for the CCNA test. A bot runs over thousands of questions of the CCNA. You score and get rated just like any other Trivia channel on IRC
to block a specific host i would do this:
lets say 10.10.10.68 is the host. I dont want no traffic from outside on this host
access-list 102 deny ip any host 10.10.10.68
on the ethernet interface the host is connected to
access-group 102 in
i dont know this stuff by heart to well...i...
have you checked with "sho cdp neighbors (det)"? if you find your remote router there you know that you have to troubleshoot on the ip level. are there any accesslists preventing you from ping or telneting to this router? does a a traceroute show it? possibly the remote router has a...
how about getting a firewall?
are the users on the site producing this traffic? or maybe some misconfig of the lan, in connection to default routes? you could also do an ip accounting (but not while your cpu load is this high) to see which hosts are the top utilizers..
