Newbie here working with CS1000.
Why is it that when I do a TNB on some sets (3904) I get 31 keys, and some I get 53 keys?
Are the 53 keys for KBAs? None of the sets have KBA expansion modules, but still show 53 keys.
How do I get rid of the 53 keys on regular sets and put them to 31? Is...
first find out what type of VM you are running. If you bought the VM with the 4.0MICS then it;s either a Flash or a Norstar Nam VM.
yes you can have these services automated. It's very easy to do.
your local Norstar service tech should be able to to this.

check the AA Dn in the vM table. if it is 21 under the table and they hit 0 the call will go there. Also check under the ICS programing for anywhere 21 is programmed.

On a NAM how can I do a quick check on the serial #? Is there are way to see it with F985 code and a digit code? How can I see the serial 3 on a flash?

I need someone who can tell me what I have here.
A new customer of mine has had the same 6x16 since 1989 and now wants to upgrade to a voice mail. I best guess is to sell them one of my referb startalk mini's. 2.04 or 2.5. Thing is I can't tell what I have here.

That's the big problem with Flash light. We stopped selling those last year. All they do is make the customer angry and end up, upgraded to a full flash. Make sure you have gen Delivery mail box turned on. F983, login, hit 4.

Also make sure in F982 Attendant available is turned on. Sometimes that will interfer with the * when getting out of a mail box. It happens!

Mikes reply is valid. also the password seem wrong to me. I thought on the new rad you had to use onnly an 8 digit password, and the old rad it was 10 digit. You may want to bring your password down to 8 #'s

Norstar Manager does not work with NRU 9.0. If you want to back up these older systems you have to continue to use NRU 8.1 for norstar manager. Nortel is aware of the bug and plans to fix it in NRU 9.1. If you have a newer rad it will work on this 8x24.
