If your getting an error with the books online then reinstall sqlserver 7.0. It's not that hard to create a database. However, I would start with SQL2000, it is more user friendly than 7.0 also SQL2000 is fast over taking the older version.

Thanks for the tip. I also contacted Microsoft as this is a high priorty for my company. It turns out you install the addins for olap 7.0, archive the database and restore in Analysis Services or onto another olap 7.0 that has the addins.

Yeah I have seen that script and the example shows moving both the database and the transaction log. The question is how do you move the transaction logs to a different drive not the database. Or does it mean that you would still have to detach the database and the move the transaction log...

You state that you tried an unload, does that mean you performed the unload of the table and then loaded the table back in. You have to load the table back inorder to get data.

Does anyone know how the unload file is generated. For example we have a 24 GB database and during the unload the files are segmented into 2GB, my question is does anyone know what order the data is being pulled? Any help is greatly appreciated.[2thumbsup]
