It depends on the type of tape drive and software you have running. don't reboot. in most cases Just eject the tape and the software will recognize that the media has been ejected or new media has been loaded.

BACKUP THE DATA,
BACKUP THE SYSTEM FILES,
INSTALL NETWARE 5 OR 6 WITH THE CURRENT SERVICE SERVICE PACKS.
