Problem with roaming profile!

I have just noticed a problem with roaming profile in the following situation:
If you logon to the computer but the server is not connected you get an error saying you will be using a local profile. If you change a file of your local profile, when you log off the file is not updated to the server. The next time you logon, your profile is downloade from ther server consequently erasing all changes made in the previous session. I woulf like to if there is a way to fix thix problem.

Happened to me once.
What I did was erase the roaming profile on the network before the user logs on. the roaming profile was updated.
