I am trying to find a good LAN based IM monitoring software. I've tried several but because of the multiple segments (off hubs\routers,etc) they will only monitor the hub\switch they are plugged into. We COULD go the route and purchase a new firewall with a monitor port, but the company (of...
I would be sure to disable audio across Citrix, or change it to low. And set the print bandwidth to a set level and adjust it as needed. Also lock the backgrounds so they cant be changed and force low color resolution to the users.
I do all of this and i can run 20+ people off a single t1 that...
I've had to move the max size for attachments to 20MB per, and the default user has 100mb for email total. I emphasise the use of personal folders for old emails and zipping files that need to be emailed. If its over 20mb we put it on our FTP site for retreival. I also block all files except...
The newest version is Presentation Server 4.0. It can be fairly costly to implement because you have to have the following:
- 2000 or 2003 Server with TS (so you pay for the server AND TS cals)
- Citrix software and cals - not cheap by any means.
Is there a specific reason you are looking at...
To get HP inkjets to print color on my XPe server I had to install the specific driver on the server and map it through the console to the driver the server thought it was using upon auto creation. I usually stuck all inkjets to the default "HP Deskjet" driver and that seemed to work normally.
update: i locked down the icons in the All Users desktop folder under My Docs to prevent anyone from deleting them, but would like to find a better solution if one exists.
We use the McAfee GroupShield for Exchange 2003 and have had good results with it. It seems to catch everything tossed at it plus some. I have it set to update every hour and havent had an email virus slip through yet. I also restrict attachments so it blocks any executable file like exe, bat...
I am running Citrix PS 4.0 on a 2003 box and I cant seem to get the desktop totally locked down. I am giving the min access to the users to run progams but if one deletes a desktop icon it removes it for everyone. I've tried various options in group policy with no success. I just want to lock...
We are using 5.5 on a 2k server and I chose to install McAfee Groupshield for Exchange. Since then we have gotten @ 10 virus emails a day, but with 95% of the attachments blocked and the other scanned heavily we havent seen a email virus infection since the original Nimbda, which was before I...
I would suggest blocking .exe files, they are 80% or more of the virus's out there. If someone really needs to get you a .exe have them rename it to something else or ZIP it and send it that way. I've cut out all executable attachments from our email and havent had a virus attack in a long long...
Am getting a corruption of the Information Store and Exchange mailbox on my Win2k (sp2) server with Exc 5.5 (sp4) setup. Restoring is not an option right now (because of the amount of time that has passed) so I brought up another 2k server with matching software, different name. What suggestions...
