KCDave03, we migrated all existing objects to the new domain. Also, we are still in the mixed mode as we still have a few NT domain controllers on our network. Thanks for your input.
Scott, thanks for your input. It makes a lot of sense but we do not have the money in our budget right now to upgrade the farm. All of the money is going to 2003 Active Directory, W3K boxes for DHCP/DNS/WINS, Exchange 2003 and getting rid of Novell. I guess I didn't do my homework well enough to...
Requesting some advice on a problem we ran into this past weekend after we upgraded our network to a 2003 Active Directory Domain from an NT domain. Our production Citrix Farm is 3 NT 4.0 SP6a TSE boxes. We are running Metaframe XPe with FR1/SP1. Our initial problem was that none of our legacy...
Thanks Ogi for your post. I went into gpedit and found a setting for "disable Map Network Drive" but is was not configured. I disabled this setting hoping this would now display the Map Network Drive under the Tools menu but still the same thing. Admins can see it but anyone else that logs in...
I was just handed the task of administoring our Pilot Citix MetaFrame XPe 1.0 Feature Release 3 farm on W2K boxes.
My first problem that I can't figure out is with our Windows Explorer application we have published. Regular users do not have the "Map Network Drive" or "Disconnect Network...
I have two users (both using W2K PC's) that dial-up to our Radius Server to access Citrix. Both user's use iPass for the dial-up and they both use the same version of the ICA Client (hundreds of other user's also use the same versions without any problems).
The problem is that everytime the...
If you are still having problems, check to see if the folder that has the files in it, is also read-only. Change the folder to archive and then you should be able to change the individual files.
I have a NT 4.0 Workstation SP6a machine that gets a User32.dll error every time the screensaver should display. I have adjusted the time setting and also selected many different screensavers but the user gets the error every time. All he has to do is click "OK" and the PC keeps...
I have a NT 4.0 Workstation with SP6a that automatically opens the System32 Folder on startup. This procedure isn't in the startup folder. Any suggestions on how to stop the folder from opening on startup? Thanks.
Try turning off File System Realtime Protection on his antivirus program. I know Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 7.5 continuously reads the files on the hard drive. I have had the same problem and this seemed to help.
In case anyone is interested in this subject, I have written a FAQ on my solution to my performance problem. The culprit was Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 7.5.
Some dBASE applications may have a performance problem after upgrading/installing Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 7.5. This version of NAV scans .dll's harder than the previous versions. The two solutions I came up with are to either uninstall version 7.5 (reinstall an older version)...
In case anyone is interested in this thread, I solved the problem myself. The culprit was Norton AntiVirus 7.5. NAV 7.5 scans the .dll's harder than any of the older versions. I ended up telling NAV to not auto scan all .dll's and now my old dBase application is performing the way it used to.
To better explain your question, NT creates the user.name profile when someone logs in. If the person has both local and domain access, NT creates two separate profiles and the second profile would be user.name.000.
Go to the Microsoft Support Knowledge Base http://search.support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx and search for article Q269378. I think this may answer your question.
You can also go into the display properties and click on the appearance tab. Then click on the drop down in the item box and select Icon Spacing (Horizontal/Vertical) and change the size.
I have seven NT 4.0 workstations that run a dBase IV application that resides on our NT 4.0 server. For about three years, we haven't had any problems running the application. Now, four of the seven PC's run the application very slow and the other three run it fine. I have not changed the...
I have just aquired a large Dbase IV database to administer and I am new to Dbase. The problem I am having is after some data is called up, the data prints to the new screen immediately but the border for the screen delays by almost 2 seconds. This just started happening on two of the three NT...
