User Profile Question

Could anybody tell me why a user.name.000 profile is created
automatically along with the user.name profile When you log on for the first time What is the purpose they look the same to me.

To better explain your question, NT creates the user.name profile when someone logs in. If the person has both local and domain access, NT creates two separate profiles and the second profile would be user.name.000.
