Basta I am having the same issue with my newly installed Sybase Agent I have a support issue open when I find the answer I will share it with you. In the mean time if any else knows the soultion to this I would be glad to hear it.

Winterhawk I run Norton AV and during my backup I stop the Norton AV using a net stop command prior to the backup and then run a net start when the backup is finished. This made a great improvment to my backup speeds.
