Here's my input on recent exams I've taken. My qualification is 70-296 is a bit easier than 70-292 BUT only if you've taken 70-292 first.

Just took it yesterday... Didn't realize it was a new exam at the time. Passed it but it is tough and has some unusual questions (there was one USB question that really threw me). Questions seem very multilayered and overall network oriented for a desktop system test... I would wait to take it...
Revision to previous fix.... The firewall was actually passing all public internet traffic out to an outside router, which then re-routed all of our personal website traffic back to us. Only problem is, the virtual ip addresses for our websites were not successfully routed back, just the public...
Managed to figure this one out. Realized I didn't have to do split-tunneling. Set the VPN server to route all internet traffic back to our firewall. Our VPN users were still having problems accessing our own company public web servers located on our DMZ (the firewall does not automatically...
I'm having an issue with multiple users connecting with a Microsoft VPN client to a Microsoft VPN server (W2K). They would like to be able to browse the internet on their public network at the same time they access our private network with VPN. They can't do it. I've tried to get it working for...
No offense, ArcserveGuru, but it sounds like you work for CA.... I personally agree with the fellow above. I've worked with both Backup Exec and Arcserve and found Backup Exec to be a lot less painful to work with. Arcserve I think works well if you place it in a homogenous network environment...
I was actually able to restore data effectively even before I put the agent on. Were you or are you using the Novell Client Agent on the backup server? That will definitely stop you from restoring effectively. I ran into that before...
We did isolate the issue to the network, the problem either being with one of the fiber cables connecting the Novell server to the backup server or a gigabit card in the Novell server. We disabled the gigabit card that was going to the backup server and enabled a 100baseT card on the server...
Having a problem backing up a specific Netware 5.1 server using Arcserve 2000 Netware Push Agent (v.7.0). Backup was humming along fine for the Netware server without the client agent until I started getting these error messages:
E3406 Unable to read file (file path\file name, EC=REM NOT LIST)...
You're in for a lot of pain if you have the same luck I did in trying to get one of those system setups to run (I have a couple of compaq TL891DLX's connected to Arcserve 2000 Advanced with W2K) The two tape libraries I have had have broken down about a total of 8 or 9 times in the last year...
Ihad the same problem. Turned out it was the Novell Netware Client. The way I fixed it was to uninstall the client and load Microsoft's Gateway Services for Netware and do backups through that....
Don't know, tell you the truth... You could test the newest version... I just took the client off the server and decided not to use it in the future. I'm currently using the Microsoft's Gateway Services for Netware instead...
Have you tried using all caps? Sounds dumb, I know but I found Arcserve 2000 won't connect to some netware servers unless you use all caps for the .CN=xxxx.OU=DALLAS, etc... But then again, this is Arcserve....
Do you have installed the Novell Client for Netware Networks installed on the server by chance? I had a similar problem and turned out it was causing it....
Might want to check that there isn't a "rogue" version of Arcserve running out on your network somewhere that is causing potential licensing issues. The different Arcserve installations communicate with each other and can force job shutdowns if they don't like what they see on the...
Your database may be corrupt. You can fix that by stopping the database service and deleting the database or database files, then repairing arcserve. Make note that you'll have to merge any previous backup jobs if you want to restore from them...
Could be your Arcserve database is corrupted and can't see the tapes correctly. I would recommend you delete the database files and repair arcserve and see if that works. Make a note that if you do this, you will have to merge any previous backup jobs back into the database afterwards if you...
