ARCserve2000 restored docs not readable

I'll admit from the start that I am new to ARCserve2K. Running on W2K PC connected to 2 adic tape drives. My backups seem to run fine. Populates the database info in restore. However, any file I try to restore comes up 1) zero kb, 2)normal size files open up full of code (small boxes, etc) instead of any text, 3) opening in MSWord or WordPerfect, error msg comes up unsupported format. Have tried restoring to network location, local c: drive and even A: drive. Made no difference. Am running Novell Netware Client 3.30.4.

As a newbie, I can't understand why everything "appears" to backup fine, but when restoring, docs are all bad. Is entire backup bad, or is it the process of restore that is not working correctly.

Any and all help would be truly appreciated!

Ihad the same problem. Turned out it was the Novell Netware Client. The way I fixed it was to uninstall the client and load Microsoft's Gateway Services for Netware and do backups through that....
 
Thanks montanablue2 for the fast response. I'm going to try your suggestion and will get back regarding result. With all of the stress and trial-n-errors I've tried, it would be great to think it was this simple.
