Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately even editing the modules.conf file as you suggest still results in eth0 stealing both ip addresses, both IO ports and both IRQs! Whenever I ping an IP address it will work for either if eth0 is connected and fail for both if it is not. s-)

To use NAT under Netware you need two cards in the server, which we don't have! Also, we are restricted to 16 IP addresses - not much use with 200 workstations.

Have you tried reinstalling the certificate server? Instructions are available on the Novell web site (go to suport.novell.com and search for "reinstall certificate server"). There are certain caveats if you are running Border Manager.
