I think your answer lies within the subnet mask choices.
You LAN1 has a 255.255.255.0 mask, which means any address of 10.10.10.xxx where xxx is 1 through 255 (which you probably know)
Your LAN2 has a 255.255.0.0 mask, which means any address of 10.10.yyy.yyy. So, 10.10.1.1 through...
Is it possible to get just the BCM 4.0 LANCTE Application from only from somewhere (download, email, etc) so that I could try it on one station just to see if it will work in our environment? I would hate to go through the whole 4.0 upgrade process (and risk) without knowing a fix was imminent...
I have a older BCM 1000 running OS 3.7
We have several LANCTE licenses installed, primarily so the staff could link their desktop Microsoft Outlook to be able to directly call from a contact.
We download the LANCTE Application from our BCM's built in software page.
But, alas, the version in...
Thanks Snowman50, CurlyCord and PhoneGuy610.
Sure enough, I found the Resources was set to "Custom1" and someone had changed the IP Clients setting from MAX (in the Default) to 8. Min=0 Max=8 Licenses=12. Sheesh.
All I had to do was edit the 8 to a 12, Update the settings and Reboot the...
I am decent at an entry level within the BCM managment interface, but I don't really know how to check or allocate what kind of resource. If you can supply more details, that would be great.
Hi,
I have an old BCM 1000 (circa 2001) that's running great. OS is 3.7.
We have 8 IP phones in service, and 8 IP phone licenses installed.
We also have about 25 Digital sets wired in. We have a 8 port POTS module, a 4 port POTs module, and the 32 port Digital set module. I have 10 POTs...
We have used many Cisco RVS4000 routers, and they work reliably for us w.r.t. VPN functions. The vulnerability will be the quality of the Internet connections and QoS limitations through an Internet based VPN. The RVS4000 has QoS, but you can only control the traffic to the point it dumps out...
Good suggestions, but the local telco's don't do Nortel, and have no clue about a BCM. We have had very poor luck contacting local Nortel reps. On our third one, they ALWAYS have to get someone else to help, someone we never get access to. Trying to find someone we know will be an expert on...
I have exceeded my BCM do it yourself capactity.
Can anyone out there recommend a company or consultant that can help us out with our BCM 1000? (not trying to recruit, just looking for recommendations)
We are in the Sacramento, CA area. The local Nortel folks we have hired so far are nearly...
We have an original BCM 1000 on 3.7
Right not we have IP sets only in our satelitte offices.
We would like to drop a BCM 50 into the satelitte and use Digital sets with it, but have the BCM50 link back to our BCM 1000 to get dialtone, vmail, etc.
Can this be done? Is it hard to implement...
I have an original BCM 1000, running 3.7. I see that there is an IP Music section in the manager, but I can't really understand how I can get it to work.
Is there a simple "how to" on this. We would like to retire our current CD based MOH device and just rip it to MP3 or the like.
We've replaced the drive, and the issue is unchanged.
Hmmmm.
Any thoughts? Is this possibly a 'feature' to prevent someone from just sitting and repeatedly 'ring-ring-ring' the door call.
Still would love to find a local 'BCM Master' to help our company out.
An update on my Bad Blocks - We shut the system down last night to try and suck an image of the drive up before it totally died. The Logs drive was having severe trouble.
But, we lucked out. When we had done the 3.7...
Thanks all, I will pass this great info along to my Cisco guy and see if I can finally get my QoS working just right.
I will probably follow you example for the bandwidth allocations. I am using the G.711-uLaw with a medium jitter buffer. Do you think thats a good idea?
Thanks! That might be it. Never seems to change while I am logged into the manager, but only the next time i check it. Appears to create 30 instances each time I log in.
Our company has an existing Cisco WAN infrastructe, and we have a BCM in our primary office and ip2004 phones in three satelitte locaions, all linked by an IP WAN.
I would like to tell my Cisco consultant to setup QoS on the routers, but he ask "what protocol" do the Nortel phones use. I guess...
