WINS would be a good solution to your machines on both networks being able to 'see' eachother when browsing the network. It can also reduce broadcasts on your lan. If using Win2000 or later and active directory with DNS then this won't necessary.

Shouldn't be an issue. Broadcasts aren't needed as you are using WINS & DNS for name resolution so all the machines will be able to resolve eachother.

Agree with Hondy. Use host headers - that way you can have multiple sites on the same server all hosted with a single IP address. Rgds Phil B

Windows 2003.. Is the Windows firewall enabled on DC2? Can DC1 ping DC2 (by name) - i.e. ping DC2 - can it resolve the name to an IP address? If not then this is the reason DC1 cannot connect to DC2 because it cannot resolve its name.
