DavidCT - The advantage comes with the subscription. Unlimited US/Canada calling for a low flat monthly fee.
tlpeter - You don't install Skype on your computer for this one. It is just like any other SIP provider, you just set up your PBX to use it.

Anyone tried Skype for SIP Beta with the IP Office?
I would assume that we could set it up as a SIP trunk in the IPO and then get cheap long distance calls. I haven't had time to mess with it yet, but here is the link:

I have a 3 site SCN. All are IP Office 500 units running 4.2.11. This site has been up for almost 2 years without experiencing this issue until just recently. The last upgrade was done many many months ago.
I will call the IP offices 1, 2, and 3.
When 2 calls 3 over the SCN via intercom...
I'm having trouble tracking down the Voicemail Pro compatibility list. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm specifically what is and isn't supported under a 64 bit Vista.
Thanks!
I searched around, and surprisingly did not see any topics on it, so I will go ahead and start it. Anyone started using Windows 7 instead of Vista or XP yet as a VMPro server? Run into any issues? What about XP mode?
Thanks for the link amriddle. Unfortunately, that doesn't work on Vista, because it lacks the necessary IIS stuff.
For this install they have their own mail server though, so it is no issue.
Hrm, this is a Vista machine and Outlook Express is apparently not available for that. Will Windows Mail work for this? It is currently installed, but the control panel is not opening.
I am trying to setup Voicemail Pro for a customer, but I am unable to open up the "IP Office Voicemail Pro" in the control panel. I double click, and it does nothing. This is not the first server I have had this issue on.
Has anyone else had this issue before? Anyway to get around it...
I have a customer right now who has an IP Office 500 (4.2, but will upgrade to whatever is necessary).
They have a queue. There are several people who are part of the group that answer the calls, and everyone in the office has a "Group" action button on their phones. When a caller is queued...
Thank you for the clarifications guys. Just to double check, I do not need a Preferred Edition license for an IP 500 that will be running Centralized voicemail back to the Main Site (the main site is Preferred Edition)? No Voicemail Resiliency is needed.
Sorry for my ignorance. It appears that the mobility features can be licensed without the upgrade, but in order to upgrade to "Power User" I would need to upgrade all to preferred.
Am I correct in thinking that I do not need preffered edition for my 2 non-central sites?
Thanks!
Okay, I just found out this about the Advanced SCN:
IP500 Voice Networking (Additional Channels) License: IPO LIC IP500 VCE NTWKG ADD 4 LIC:CU (205650)
This license enables 4 voice networking channels including the Advanced Networking features (distributed groups and hot-desking across Small...
I'm quoting a 3 site SCN and am trying to build it using the 5.0 licensing. I want to have the VMPro located at one site and use centralized voicemail for the other 2 locations.
One thing that I am very confused about is the Advanced SCN features. This used to be a separate license. Are...
I should mention that I already found SIPdroid for the Android platform for doing the SIP from the phone end. More wondering about how to hook it up to the IP Office.
