Network Drives dont connect because machines boot too fast

There is a fair bit of group policy around this and will take some fine tuning. Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon setting is probibly a good one to start with.

    Cisco switch recommendations

Not sure what budget you are on, but a pair of 3750's as a core with whatever interfaces you require, with 2950s switch's in a stack for desktops work very well and is generally very inexpensive in comparison to chassis gear. Backup power supply to keep it all up if a ps failure happens (super...

How many will bail on VMware

It not the license pricing that such a big deal with vmware. Its the obscene maintenance costs associated with it. Regardless of this, visualization of windows environments was trending fairly hard towards hyper-v this may speed things up a little bit when peoples mtce is due but I don't think...

Help with allocation drives for VM servers

Thats pretty bizzare having 5 dc's on one virtual server, apart from having 2 dc's for failover (which is pointless virtualised unless there's multiple hosts) 1 DC can support hundreds of thousands of hosts if the vm has enough memory to cache the entire Ad database.

Server in DMZ joing to Domain

The isa box should have 2 nic's one in the dmz and one in internal. The external nic only has listeners on it for http/s traffic so the rules are pretty straight forward.

would you recommend SATA drive vs SAS w Exch2010?

There is a lot of large exchange organizations that are currently using sata drives. The storage calculator is the tool you would wish to use to work out what fits. You can get all the metrics you require from performance counters (assuming you are on 2007) to be able to decide if sata is a fit...
