- I am running Win server 2012 with hyper-v.
- The domain server is a virtual server. The host is able to connect to the domain.
- I am unable to make any clients on the LAN connect to the domain. I cant ping the client on the local area network from the DNS server. Clients are running Windows 8. I haven't disabled the firewalls. What network settings am I missing?

Hard to say but i would guess your virtual networks are misconfigured.

A bit more information. My first post lacked a few details.

- The host and guest are able to communicate with each other. Internet is working fine

- I have 4 nic's on the server. One is disabled for now (until i need it for remote desktop) and the other three are teemed

- The DNS server (virtual) is on 10.10.10.2 Gateway 10.10.10.1 subnet 255.255.255.248

- The host is on 10.10.10.3 Gateway 10.10.10.1 subnet 255.255.255.248 using the same teemed NIC. I know best practice is to put it on seperate NIC, but I couldnt make that work.

- I have enabled on the virtual switch to allow teh mangemnt o/s to use teh switch

- The client is using 10.10.10.9 Gateway 10.10.10.1 subnet 255.255.255.248 and dns server 10.10.10.2

- when running the DNS server BPA tool root hints are not responding. I think that's why the cleints are unable to connect to the domain. Apart from this the BPA tool dosent seem to have any major issue

- How do I Resolve this DNS server problem?
