Logging into different domains at work and home

I've got dhcp running at home and work. That's why it's strange XP can't find the domain.

Logging into different domains at work and home

I have a Windows 2000 server at home running active directory. My old notebook would just detect the domain I was hooked to and let me log into it. I don't understand why XP can't do this.

Logging into different domains at work and home

I have a notebook I take back and forth from work. The networks have different domains. The older versions of windows would automatically sense the domain of the network. Is there anyway to setup XP like this?

Host unreachable Error for one customer's e-mail

We get a fair number of e-mails, yet one customer is getting unexplained delays, and in one case, a rejected e-mail saying host unreachable. Where can we start to look for the problem? It's odd because the internet connection seems fine, and in several years of Exchange 2000 working with no...

Restoring backup to repair virus attack

I cleverly turned off real time protection for some reason, and neglected to turn it back on. :-) Hows the best way to restore from the system tools backup program to repair this? Should I boot up in safe mode? Obviously I want to restore system files that might be busy in normal operation...

Windows Me on the notebook. And I can't login as administrator either. Also, I can log in to the server thru Terminal Sevices using that login.

Notebook suddenly won't login to 2000 server

I have a Windows 2000 server at home, running active directory, dhcp, dns, etc. My notebook, which I take from work to home everyday, suddenly started to get "login server did not recognise your domain password or access to the server has been denied." It logs in fine to the 2000...

    Resetting Terminal Server Licenses

We have a bunch of licensing issued to "unknown", and it's crowding out our other licenses. Do I have to call Microsoft to get them deleted, or is there a better way?

"You do not have permissions to send to this user"

You just go to recipiants, recipiants policy in Exchange System Manager, and add a new SMTP E-mail address to default policy. That's for incoming messages, tho. It's likely they've got yahoo.com redirected in DNS so that mail sent to yahoo.com goes to another server, that rejects it.

Erased my log files, now exchange won't start.

Thanks to a search here, I found out about the Eseutil /p command, which fixed it. Still, any good links to a simple explanation of these stupid log files? Thanks tho, I kind of panicked because this wasn't a good time for the e-mail to go down.

Erased my log files, now exchange won't start.

Nah. My priv1 and pub1 files are still there. Plus, I really don't care that much. I just need to get exchange running again.

Erased my log files, now exchange won't start.

Ok, I'm an idiot. But I get about 20 gigs of log files every month, and no more than 20 e-mails a day. So I've done this before with no problem. After erasing the *chk file I've got it to database inconsistency. How can I fix it? Thanks!

Could not open one or more attachments

One I get attachments I can open the e-mail message once, but if I try to forward it or open it again, I get "Could not open one or more attachments". It's very intermittent, it doesn't happen on all messages. It seems to be related to when I transfered e-mail from an old server, as...

Using group totals on report end

I have a field marked yes/no. I need a report where all the yes's list first, with a total, then all the no's. At the end I want to make a percentage out of the yes's and no's by dividing count of the yes's by the count of the no's. I've been trying to embed queries in the totals field, no...

Securing Terminal Server for outside logins

I'll have an outside IP dedicated to terminal services. The Pix firewall will route this outside IP to this server. That would control access. Then, to get on the network, you'd have to authenticate thru this server. Does that make any sense?

Securing Terminal Server for outside logins

The owners want to be able to get on the network from any location, like their vacation homes on the shore :). I'm fairly experienced with Server 2000 and terminal services, but I'm wanting to set this up with maximum security, considering the limitations that I can't limit IP's. I've ordered...
