Logging into different domains at work and home

I have a notebook I take back and forth from work. The networks have different domains. The older versions of windows would automatically sense the domain of the network.

Is there anyway to setup XP like this?
 
Do you really have a Domain setting at home?

. I would use the Work Domain logon (using cached credentials) and add through Network Places the identified resources on the Home network.

I have a Windows 2000 server at home running active directory.

My old notebook would just detect the domain I was hooked to and let me log into it. I don't understand why XP can't do this.
 
I've got dhcp running at home and work. That's why it's strange XP can't find the domain.
