I think IOSHunter has an account on any of the sites it tries to download from. I am not sure how the protocol performs the authentication, maybe the challenge system. More than this I can't speculate:)

I do not agree with you on that. The 2600 routers are not very reasonable, considering they come with almost no interfaces and you have to buy expansion cards. All this taken into account, it will be quite expensive and you're better off using the emulator on your hopefully powerful enough PC...
CiscoPress exam preparation guides. No other books necessary I dont think. Free labs at www.free-labs.com

There is a software called IOSHunter. They offer a free version of this software that limits you to older images. You can download a lot of IOS images with this thing, up to 12.2 and sometimes 12.3 If you want to pay 60$ for it then you have access to some 12.4 images as well..which is...
haha, indeed. Why do we have to be nervous about this..Yea you lose money if u fail, so you better be as prepared as possible. I'd rather postpone the test until I feel I am ready, and learn at a slow pace. I think it helps more with the long term memory.

The simulator is only good enough for the the beginner. As you become aware of the simulator's limitations, you will want either the real thing or the emulator. You really don't want to learn the erroneus behaviour of the simulator as a subtitute for the real thing. Your time is important and I...
hmmm..IOS 12.4, good luck finding that one. As for CiscoKits, they look ok until u go look on Ebay. I believe Ebay is a much better place for buying anything. There is more competition there rather than one online store hoping people will buy their overpriced merchandise. Also, CiscoKits sell...
Yea you could consider going for a 2 year associate degree from a community college. It's fairly cheap and you can continue later towards a 4 year bachelor.
There's three things you need to get a job:
education, certifications, experience.
You really should think about ways of having something...

How about the IOS on the switches? Any suggestions on that? Some people selling switches on Ebay don't have a clue what IOS if any. I imagine I shouldn't need the enterprise version, but still..

I can tell you how i managed to upgrade the flash in my 2500. You need to boot into RXboot, and from there, you could simply do a copy tftp flash:) So..in order to get to Rxboot, maybe.try and change the registry?

hehe, yes, the speed is an issue, I just skipped a "tough" acl question on my exam, as I was running out of time. You could design a few suited networks in a simulator, and then ask somebody to give you tasks, and time yourself while solving them:)
