When restoring this, would you just do a restvg and point to vg.data file or is there something else that needs to be done?

Is there a command for the savevg that will only keep the filesystem information without backing up all the files. I do a regular backup but I would just like to run a savevg to save the filesystem information and then restore that and then restore the data. Thanks.

Well I am trying to restore a MKSYSB from a 7028-6e4 to a 7025-F50. I know the software works on the F50 because i have installed it from CD. The LED shows 0c43 as the code on the screen when the server freezes.

Well it has ended up that I didn't need anything. After all the software support guys tried telling me to get a device driver and not finding any we tried without it. My issue has been resolved and I am currently using the SDLT 600 drives. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know where I can get some Quantum SDLT 600 drivers? I have searched websites and have had some of our support people look but no one can find any. We just brought in a new tape robot and I need the drivers to get it up and working with my AIX system. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Removing the ulimit lines in the .profile file for the user that i was having the issue with worked. Thanks for all the help.

On line 22 in the .profile for the user I get the message for is: ulimit -s unlimited I also looked at the limits file and there are no limits set in thee for that user.

Hello all, I am updating my server to AIX 5.1 but I am renaming it for easy of change by my users. I know there is a command to force DNS to change in windows, ie ipconfig -r. Do anyone know of a command that will do it on the AIX platform? Thanks for any help.
