tlpeter,
I believe you, but just for my education can you tell me what you're referring too when you say that they're gone in 4.2? Is there a list of available licenses for each version that comes out?
Thanks for all the helpful responses.
With regard to Avaya not selling this license, why do some websites still list this license for sale? Can a vendor keep licenses in inventory, or are they issued from Avaya at the time of sale.

I recently learned about the Phone Manager Pro Unlimited license. However, one of my Avaya contacts "thinks they switched back to only per-user licensing on Version 4.2." I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere and was wondering if that was valid.
I've even seen references that said that the...

I've created a personal auto-attendant, and would like to be able to tell the caller whether I'm on the phone or just away from my desk.
Apparently, the Busy status of "Route By Call Status" is only triggered if you have no available call appearances.
However, Phone...
Turning off 802.1Q will fix the dead air issue, without having to disable "Allow Direct Media Path" on the extensions. And, restoring "Allow Direct Media Path" to its default setting will fix the hold issue.
I know..I know..everytime you change an extension it causes the dreaded reboot. So...
The Layer 2 and Layer 3 signaling options are still available on the phone after turning off 802.1Q. Therefore, I'm assuming that it just disables the Virtual LAN encapsulation.
Incidentally, I noticed in the Avaya's IP_Phone_Installation.pdf, the instructions for using static IP addressing...
We changed phone systems, going from digital phones on our old Nortel platform to IP phones with the new IP Office.
The main complaint from our users was that it sounded like they were talking in a "well", or "tin-can". We knew that our network was fine, there was no echo, jitter, delay etc...
We experienced these issues with our 7 site SCN (3.1.65) There are a few settings that must be set correctly for everything to work.
It kinda hinges on whether or not you're using VLANS. We do not using VLANS. Baically, if you're not using VLANS, change the 802.1Q setting on the IP phones to...
We had this exact same issue running 3.1.65
Check your VoIP tab for your Extensions. The "Default" setting for "Allow Direct Media Path" is ENABLED.
One of the installers had disabled that setting on all of our extensions. With that setting disabled, it didn't matter how we configured the...
Yup. They sent us some 5621 replacements for our 5620's. I've been testing one in my office for about a week now.
We're running 3.1.65 in a SCN with 7 sites. I didn't add or change any .scr files. I just let it pickup the same files that our 5620's are using. No issue thus far...
Thanks MTVilla. Works beautifully!
The only minor issue that I ran into was needing to restart the VMPro service to get it to recognize all of my changes. I don't know if that's common or not, but I've run into that a couple times. "Save & Make Live" doesn't always do the trick...

Is there a way to broadcast a voicemail to all extns/vmail boxes over the SCN?
I know that you can do individual sites with a hunt group set to broadcast, but is there a way to cover all the vmail boxes on the SCN?
