Any luck on this? I am still gaving this problem. Part of the reason is that I only work with this server once every 2 weeks, and then only for a few hours to do complete maintenance. Any help on this would be appreciated
I am having this same problem. The client was running SBS 2000. I had hoped that when we upgraded to SBS 2003 the problem would be fixed, but alas, the snap-in still fails.
It turns out that there was an "unknown" server sending polls out on the subnet. Initially fixed the problem by modifying the registry keys that define the port that eTrust listens on. Turns out another admin had set up the server for "testing purposes" and didn't tell anyone. Is there a thread...
That is strange... I don't even get an error code though. What SP is the 2K machine running (if you don't mind me asking)? Are you running eTrust on a server also?
We installed eTrust AV 7.1 for a client on over 50 workstations in 4 sites. Most workstations run Windows XP, however there are 4 workstations at one site that are running Windows 2000 Professional. The Realtime monitor on these machines will disable, and they lose their signature download...
We have group policy setup to redirect user's My Documents folders. We recently added a user (who is a member of the groups linked to this policy) and this user's My Documents folder is still pointing to the default location (c:\documents and settigns\username\my documents). WHY?!? ARRRGGGGHH!!!!!
Zoey is right. The Java runtime module in APC's powerchute 6.x expired on the 27th. Next reboot causes problems. We fought this for a couple of hours before someone found the advisory. You should be able to install ver 7.x

Can I use the NTuser.dat file from a profile on an NT 4.0 server for a user on a Windows XP/2000 system? If not, can I just export the registry keys I need and merge them on the workstation?
