I installed IE6 SP1 and windows xp SP1 with my Norton antivirus running. After the installation of both these I had a problem. Webpages were displaying a Red X instead of a graphic. All the webpages I went to including hotmail had this problem.

Thanks so much for the info. However, would you clarify what you mean by redownload? Do uninstall the 1st SP1 before you download the SP1 over again?

I have a question for you. I'm a computer novice, and I was reading this thread. Your message told rison to redownload the service pack.
Does this mean you can redownload to copy over the 1st service pack that maybe did not get completed. Or, do you have to uninstall the 1st...

First, I installed the Internet Explorer 6 SP1.
Second, I installed the Windows XP SP1 (Express).

I went into C drive, program files, Internet Explorer, and there is an IE Uninstall.
What is the differece of using the IE Uninstall compared to start-settings-control panel-add/remove programs?

This morning when I booted up the computer the following error message was displayed:
The system has recovered from a serious error.
I looked at the error report and these are the two files which were listed:
c:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini082302-01.dmp...
