you need a serial port.
In MSwin these are called com1, com2, etc.
A PC internal modem includes both a com interface and a modem.
you cannot connect the modem to the Cisco router, you need to connect with a serial port.

I have a MICS with several MOX16 units. I'm adding another one soon. The others all have a cable with an amphenol connector for the MOX side and individual wires punched down into a 24 port patch panel.
Is there any reason why I can't use a patch panel with a amphenol...

OK, FastRAD , got it check
two ports, one serial DB9 and one RJ11,
Which manual would the setup be described in? Or is there a seperate one just for it? ( The RJ11 goes somewhere, but the DB9 is empty)
