Hello...

Is there an easy way to backup (or view) the entire MICS configuration? I want to make some changes and it would be nice to have a config reference "Just In Case" :)

you need nortel hw + sw (if you already dont have it)
hardware: FastRAD
software: Norstar remote utils ...(compatible with ur system version)

Thanks,

followup:

OK, FastRAD , got it check

two ports, one serial DB9 and one RJ11,
Which manual would the setup be described in? Or is there a seperate one just for it? ( The RJ11 goes somewhere, but the DB9 is empty)

Norstar remote utils:
Is this something that should have come with our system? Or an extra cost option?

rad manuall ...rj to any station port db9 to com port... nru 10 is purchased software package from any reputable nortel reseller/vendor...try there website "nortel" was free for awhile

ONLY 17 WEEKS TILL SKI SEASON STARTS

If you have a fastrad installed in your system, the original vendor put it there to make remote changes. It will be password protected. If you are worried about "just incase" you should call the vendor.

senk1s, do you have a compatability chart of NRU to ICS software release? It would be really helpful because i think i may have hit that snag!

Following this thread, I found out the hard (and expensive) way that NRU 10 only works on 6.1 and higher. I am still trying to locate a copy of the older software, perhaps NRU 5 or so, so I can bac up older MICS, CICS and 824's. Anyone able to help?

NRU 10 is supposed to work on MICS/CICS 2.0 and higher for all features. You can still use NRU 10's remote set tool on all versions. I have used remote set back to V-t1r1. What snags?

the telset will work pretty much across the board ...
it's backup/restore and browser that have the compatibility issues
bkrike is right rel 10 works all teh way to mics/cics 2

Yeah i'll third bkrike there, i seem to be having the same issues. Remote set will work with all versions, although when trying to use back-up, workbooks and browser i think the map files are not backward compatable.

I think the remedy will be to either gain the map file patches for NRU10 (if there available!) or install NRU5 on a seperate computer and have it working like that. Fingers crossed!

Can anyone help i.e anyone have the appropiate patches or NRU???

It took a bit of searching but it is still there

They charged us for it, but it wasn't set up :|

"I'm not the phone guy", I just play one on occasion :)

I am however, and have been for a while, a sysadmin/netadmin. "If you don't back it up, it gets deleted". From my point of view, a backup is a best practice.

thanks to everyone
