U might also wanna take a look at recipient policies. Is your external domain same as internal? Mine are different, and therefore have a recipient policy for both.

What Service pack are you runnin? I had a similar prob, and all i did was upgrade to latest SP and all is fine.

Try right clicking Contacts, properties, outlook address book,and check show this folder as an e-mail address book hope that helps
