When I create a contact it will not show up in the global address list. I can however do an LDAP search and find the entry.

I do the search for example in OWA and search for the contact. I can send an email to this contact.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Try right clicking Contacts, properties, outlook address book, and check show this folder as an e-mail address book

hope that helps

Contacts created in your local address list will not show up in the GAL.

It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

The contacts were created on the server not on the clients.

BTW, this did resolve another issue I had, where a user couldn't see their contacts when they tried to send an email.

Thanks...

I checked a nother mail server, and it works perfectly. I am trying to figure out what the difference is....

Anyone seen this problem? Any ideas?

Did you mail enable the contact(s)?

yeah they were when they were created.

I can (from outlook client) select from the ALL contacts list and see them. But they are not showing up in the GAL. I have another site that does though.....
