Creating a Ghost Boot CD with USB Support

I thought this scenario is common but was blown away by the lack of documentation. This is what I want to do. I want to ghost my Laptop to a USB 2.0 Exernal Drive. The laptop has no floppy disk. I want to use Ghost 2003 to create and restore these backups. The problem is that Ghost 2003...

Pasing Login Credentials from Crystal Report Runtime to VB UFL

I know the Crystal Reports Run Time engine (CRPE32.DLL) has been 'officially' retired. However, does anyone know a way to pass the login credentials from the report to a user function (UFL) called by the report? In particular using a UFL constructed in Visual Basic? i.e. when the report is...

Passing Login Credentials from CRPE32.DLL to UFL

I know the run time engine CRPE32.DLL has been 'officially' retired. However, does anyone know how to pass the login credentials from the report to a UFL called by the report? In particular using a VB UFL. i.e. when the report is run the application would have passed the database login...

    Attachment UFL / Utility

Anyone know of a tool or UFL available that will print an external attachment when a report is printed? eg. a word document or an excel spreadsheet? Embedding the external document in the report is not an option as it is record dependent. Thanks,

    Generating Numbers

Anyone know how I can generate a list of numbers eg. 1 to 100 that I can use in report. I could create a custom or temp table with a numeric field with a values 1 to 100 but rather use something thats completely internal to the report. I envision this could be accomplished with Crystal...

Can't find query designer in Version 9

I wonder why they don't package it anymore? Or make it a bit more obvious. I couldn't find this information on they support site. I guess I was just using the wrong keywords. I guess they may be building it into the core program sometime soon? Thank you very much for your help.

Can't find query designer in Version 9

Does Crystal 9 still have Crystal Query Designer. I've looked at an existing install of Crystal 9 Designer (advanced) and there was no query designer. I ran the add/remove programs app from windows control panel and did not see any option to add the crystal query designer. What gives?

    Dynamic Pick Lists

I've just looked at Crystal version 9 and they still don't seem to support dynamic pick lists (i.e. one where if the drop down field source changes so do the drop down list items on the parameter). Is this simply never going to be supported natively or does the report always have to run via a...

Hiding Object in Preview Not Print

Exactly. The solution also needs to work with the REAPI (crp32.dll). So it looks like the VB calls are somewhat limited here in 'preview aware' properties. I believe it can be done with C++ but there is a bit of a learning curve and I was hoping there may be some existing code available or...

Hiding Object in Preview Not Print

Is there a function or UFL that can selectively suppress objects / sections in a report based on whether the report is Previewed vs Printed? Thanks,

    auto refresh?

I think the only way you can do it is by using a third party automation tool, like lauchpad. A scheduling tool like this can open the report, wait some time, close it, and reopen it with refresed data. Brian.

How do I get rid of a "phantom" formula?

It may be in one of two places, best I can guess: 1. In a conditional format formula, (check sections, and look for any buttons in red, indicating a formula. 2. Outside page area. First check if it is outside page area by changing your zoom to 25%. Can't see it yet? Then try to do a lasoo...

Usage of Oracle Stored Procedure in Crystal Reports

Hi Diane, I like the clarity of your example. I am able to create the package, and stored procedure. I am also able to select the Stored Procedure when creating a new report. However, when prompted for the Parameters, and after inputting a parameter value in the tab I get an "ODBC...
