Reports don't open OR crash Access

I've just had exactly the same problem on my database. To clear it I simply previewed a table to see if it could format the page on my default printer. When I went back to preview the reports, they had all returned! Hope this helps... Geraldine

IIS 4.0 not able to see localhost or 127.0.0.1

I'm afraid I've discovered the problem was totally unrelated to the exclusion problem, although I suspect that you were right in your advice. I found bad sectors on my hard drive, so I uninstalled and re-installed and it worked. All I've got to do now is sort the hard drive out! Thanks for...

IIS 4.0 not able to see localhost or 127.0.0.1

I am having the same problem, and its 2 years since this post was started! If anyone knows how to 'exclude' these IP addresses I would be eternally gratefull.

Win16 Subsystem unable to enter protected mode

This error message appears when I try to run any 16bit program. It is followed by "DOSX.EXE must be present in your autoexec.nt and present in your path" -which it is. I did find a microsoft knowledge base article Q168925, which didn't help much. I have 3 other machines installed at...

Sorry, I give up. Have you tried TechNet on microsoft's website?

    Making bootable CD-Rom

Not as easy as you think. I heard that it can only be done by the big boys; a colleuge wanted to make them to use as recovery CD's and never managed it. Perhaps technology has moved on, I know that Nero has some complex settings which can supposedly overcome copying restrictions, you could try...

COMPUTER FREEZES AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF INACTIVITY

It could be a conflict between the power saving functions in Windows and those set in your bios. Geraldine

    Uninstall Problem

Welcome to the world of Windows! Basically the uninstall routine has left some parts behind. If you wish to persue the matter you would need to edit the registry and manually remove the entries yourself. I wouldn't attempt it unless you know a little about the Registry and have made a backup...

    Monitor color

Can't say I've come accross saturation or hue settings in Media player, but if the colour doeasn't appear at any other times it is possible that it is Media Player at fault. You could always try uninstalling it and re-installing it again. That should set it back to its default settings. Make...

    Outlook Express 6 problem

This may be a security feature. If you were previewing the attachments before you would be automatically opening them when they could contain a virus. This way you could delete the email if you were suspicious without opening the attachment. Geraldine

    Uninstalling Outlook Express

Deleting the folder will not remove all the references in the registry and will totally confuse Windows; I suggest you leave it there. What was the original problem? If it was a suspected corrupt file you may be able to install the latest version and solve the problem. Use Outlook Express...

Out look express slow at retrieving mail!

I believe that the service providers may be the problem and not you. Nimda and W32Badtrans have caused them some serious grief and I suspect they may be taking extra precautions in checking their mail. Does your ISP have a system status page?

    Outlook 2000 with multiple E-mail

Thanks but I believe you are reffering to Outlook 'Express' not Outlook 2000. I have 'upgraded' to Outlook 2000 and all the features you mentioned are no longer there.

    Monitor color

This can be caused by magnetic interference generated by something like badly shielded speakers. Try degausing, see the documentation provided with the monitor. Geraldine

    Outlook 2000 with multiple E-mail

I've managed to set up all my accounts and they are downloading. How can I choose which address to use when sending? In Outlook Express I had a drop down box, now I cannot even tell which one I am using. Geraldine

Outlook2000 or Outlook Express that is the question

The latest version of Outlook Express has 'identities' which might be usefull. Set up a new identity, then select the isp settings for this identity. You can switch between them while still connected. A password for the mailbox should solve the security question.

Disconnects from Internet after 2 hours

If it is exactly 2 hours each time it sounds like your ISP is disconecting you, try their technical support team. In the mean time you need a piece of software that allows you to resume downloading from where you left off:- http://www.getright.com/ Try this one. Geraldine

    INTERNET SHARING WITH DSL

Another, not quite so cheap option would be to buy a router. Preferably one with a Firewall if you haven't got any software. Geraldine
