My SystemWorks cannot delete 107 files in my Windows Temp folder and I manually can't delete them(and they are reported as in use). Does Norton create files of this magnitude in the Win Temp dir? -XP Pro/SP2.
Thanks for suggetions:

My anitvirus icon on status bar shows it's disabling as I login to desktop. It takes about 30 seconds, and then enables and the rest of my icons show up. I am running Zone Alarm, with antivirus monitoring off, and they have been playing well for some time. Scanned system and reports no...
Thanks Pete. I edit a lot of blocks in schematics and I don't think LT let's you edit a piece of a block in place without exploding it, as you can in the full version. Very frustrating.

Has anyone had experience running a full blown version of 2002 with 2005LT? I want to see if LT serves my needs before removing 2002, but don't know if AutoDesk lets 2 versions run concurrently on the same computer.
Thanks
You are most welcome and I understand version 4.0 comes out the end of this month. To re-iterate, this program is not a CAD program, but a great modeler and tool set as an addition to use with other CAD and Rendering programs.
I've seen some nice results with JPEG exports from this program to...
I had a similar problem plotting on my HP laser, and always had to use the Post Script driver to get it to print black instead of grey, which happened when I used the PCL driver for the same printer, even though my pens were all set to black.
Sorry if this is repeat< I've been struggling with this for a while. Trusted newsletters sent to me in HTML no longer appear that way when received (only in text). I can't find a setting to correct this view issue. Running OE 6.0 on P4, MS XP Pro with all updates.
Thanks for your help

Is there a way to perform a refedit in AutoCAD LT? I need to modify a line of text nested in a titleblock without exploding it? I was last able to do it in full version of 2002.
Thanks in advance for advice.

I've been using AutoCAD since V6.2 and have struggled to use it as a 3d design tool for quite a while. I recently purchased SketchUp as an adjunct to Autocad. I can import dwgs and create wonderful design models/walkthrus that have helped expand my client base. Check them out at sketchup.com...
My new version of 2005 LT seems very slow to open, though I'm running on a P4 with 512 memory. Also, layers are twice as slow to open when in the program> Has anyone experienced similar and found out why? Prior to running this version, was running 2002 with no speed issues?
thanks,
Frank
Does anyone have a good recommendation of a decent LCD 17-19" monitor to use with autocad. I want to replace my 17" CRT and gain some desktop space but wary because of resolution issues with LCDs? Thanks for recommendations.
I had a similar issue on a small home network, and in talking to Microsoft, they had me disable all firewall and virus protection, and reload IPX over itself, which solved computers not seeing one another. For what it's worth...
bcaster,
I've been struggling with this for weeks, and not only did your direction work..the regedit, but directing me to the eldergeek as a tool is also a great asset. Thanks for being there for us semi tech users, your help has saved me a ton of time. I was actually told by a Microsoft...
bcastner,
Thanks for that tip, eldergeek is a great site. Unfortunately, group policy editor is not available in XP Home, so I guess I'll see if I can find a work around, any suggestions.

Have a virgin laptop with XP Pro and don't want to update with SP1 because I've heard it really slows things down. Is SP1a any better?
Thanks for advice
Love the thread. Actually I found out that my last virus update from symantec was the problem. It messed with a common dll file which would not allow autocad to execute.
Only took about 2 hours to figure it out, another hour to reload all the erased software.
Thanks
While doing a wipe of free space with Norton, my computer crashed. All programs seem to be running okay except autocad which will not execute, gives a page fault. Is this a virtual memory problem because of the crash maybe?
any help much appreciated.
