Apparently, when you get the root password for the day you can simply enable Telnet which will give you root access.
I haven't tried this myself yet, so anybody who gets the chance please let us know if it works.

This depends on what permissions you have set on the directory and the command. If you check these you'll be able to work out who can run MKSYSB and who can't.

Mksysb the node,
Archive the SDR ( SDRArchive ),
Deallocate the NIM resources ( unallnimres ),
Delete the NIM client ( delnimclient ),
Power off the node,
If its a new ethernet card run the command, sphrdwrad to acquire the new MAC address of the card. If not...

You could try removing krb-srvtab krb.conf krb.realms from /etc and ./klogin on the node. Set the node in the SDR to customize i.e. spbootins -r customize -l <node> then run
/usr/lpp/ssp/install/bin/pssp_script. Then re-boot your node.

Anyone suggest why , if you allow a service for a domain within "hosts.allow" and then deny the same service for ALL others within "hosts.deny" it overrides the "hosts.allow" ?

Contact IBM & find out if this is a know problem. Or look on FixDist for any AIX APAR's. Chances are it's either a configuration problem with MQseries or it's a bug in the version of AIX you are using.
As a general rule aviod any release that has an even number in it e.g. AIX4.2, AIX5.2...
