Yes it can be done. Distribution list has his own email address. In active directry users, right click distribution list- properties- exchange general- accept messages- only from- and there u can put address of the people who can send email mail to this distribution list.

Check if the mailbox store is mounted. Check for the exchange service if running.If mailbox is mounted try excessing email from OWA rather than connecting with exchange service from microsoftoutlook.

For each mailbox there is an option in active directry- exchange general- delivery options -Delivery option- forward to- there U can define to forward the message to unix host. That particular unixhost has to definted as contact in active directory with his smtp address.
