Hi,
I was wondering how long it takes after successful backup of IS for the logs to clear. Should it be immediate or is there a delay. Also is normal the right kind of backup and do I have to backup anything but the IS to get the log files to clear?
Thanks
I have several clients on the network that get the "can't contact server" error message when opening Outlook 2000. If I boot the client in safe mode with network, all is well, email can be sent and received. I have exchange 2000 standard with sp3. Seems sort of virus like but I...
Has anyone tried to move the ntds.dis and log files with the instructions from MS Knowledgebase article 257420 after AD has been running for 6 months or more and did it work out alright?

The full version of Outlook works fine but Outlook express is unable to check for new messages. I can create and send mail from Outlook express successfully. I am using Exchange 2000 SP3.
Here is the error message I get -
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was...

Thanks
What is the general rule of thumb about how many computers should be on a single subnet? Clients range range from Win95 to WinXP and are on a single Win2K domain. Right now I have about 500 clients located in 7 buildings with fiber connections between buildings and all the buildings are on a...
Hi all,
My Exchange2K server was used to relay mail by an unknown source. I think I have the relaying shutdown but now I have thousands of emails in the queue and I can't delete them. When I try to remove them the console locks up. The server has slowed down to a crawl and network activity on...
