    hd has less capacity than it should

    Just a thought. If your computer is an old Pentium the BIOS may not be able to handle hard drives over 4GB. Thus upgrading would be a good choice. Good Luck!

    If all fails contact the hard drive manufacturer and ask for DATA RECOVERY. It can cost any where from $200 - $2000 depending how much they got to work. Even this has no promisses, but the success rate is high. If the information is valuble enough than its worth the price. Good luck!

    Try setting the printer port in the BIOS to either: ECP, EPP, or normal ... usually one of these will work. If your not used to going into the BIOS, have someone in the know do it for you. Good Luck!

    Interesting problem

    I would start systematically swapping parts untill the computer starts working. I mean every part if you can including motherboard, powersupply, etc. I would start with the simple stuff like sound card, NIC, RAM and work my way from there.
