Well, I gave up...
I tried the registry entry and there was STILL no USB printers listed. The network printer setup for the Dell was still there but never worked. I brought a different USB printer (Xerox P8EX) into the mix and even IT wouldn't show up.
In frustration, I deleted the network...
Thank you both for the information:
Topkapi - I verified that the driver was installed and the same version on both the server and the notebook. I had made a few changes and cleared out the event log just before starting this thread. There were some errors in there but not for the specific...
Hi,
I have a user with a Dell All In One 966 printer, which has a built-in wireless card. It's configured for both wireless and USB printing and works fine locally. When she connects to her SBS server using Remote Desktop, it brings up the Network printer but not the USB one. I've heard...
Hi,
I have a very puzzling problem. Windows XP Pro systems on both sides. I enable Simple Sharing on both systems. I set up the same username on both systems, with no password, so that they can gain access without a login prompt. I set up one folder for sharing on unit 1. I go to unit 2...
Just a thought:
Perhaps your field and table names are long, which would cause a complex sort and/or grouping to be more than 128 characters. I can't confirm it but I know that some of the functions don't like an overly long syntax. Shortening up your names would make the final syntax shorter...
Sounds like your sums are being calculated in the report itself but you're exporting the query on which it is based, which does not contain any sums. Try calculating your sums within the query itself and it should export properly. Hope this helps.
Try running the setup directly from the CD. If you still get that message, it usually indicates that the CD you are using is NOT the CD that you originally used to install Office. I've had that happen to me, since I work with several other technicians and we all have our own CD. Even though...
Make sure the CD is in the drive (and that the drive letter is correct and put in the full path to the file as well:
D:\setup.exe /focums D:\ProPlus.msi
D = CD Drive letter
D:\ = Path to PROPLUS.MSI on CD
If that doesn't work, open the CD and check that the MSI file is truly PROPLUS.MSI...
Click START | RUN, choose the SETUP.EXE file from the CD and then add the commands you need as it's stated in the article. For example, to do an administrative install, you'd type:
D:\SETUP.EXE /A
Office XP installs for a specific user. When you removed your profiles, you removed the 'user' who was authorized to access Office and it's installer. I would try replacing the profile of the user you were logged in as when you originally installed Office XP. With luck, the Office installer...
I'm pretty sure you are correct about the default setting. Most of those dropdowns, however, will accept keyboard input. That means that you might be able to get to the Excel listing by clicking in that field and typing "E". It worked for me in Word XP. Hope this helps a little.
Outlook will only notify you when it is running. If you quit the app, then SEND/RECEIVE is NOT working and won't work until you open it up again. If you minimize Outlook, instead of closing it, it should alert you while working within other applications. Personally, I use a program called...
Could be several things. The two that come to mind right away:
1. The user may be double opening the file, so it loads the first version but can't open the second 'cause it's already open.
2. If the file is on the server, it could be that the server has not yet closed the file. Novell...
It sounds like the filetype entry for a PPT file is wrong. Go into the filetype and make sure that under the "&Open" entry it lists something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" "%1"
The %1 part tells powerpoint to open the file...
Outlook typically needs a contact name in order to create a listing. If all you have are one column of email addresses, then there is not enough information to create the contacts. You may be able to get away with it by just copying the column of email addresses and make the header of that new...
My guess would be that either Office XP was installed off the network or was configured to look at the network for one of its updates. As a consequence, the loss of your network login caused the program and the installer to lose a component it needs to work. I would try getting this machine...
I don't know if there is a quicker way but you can do it like this:
* Open the folder in Windows Explorer
* Select all the documents
* Right-click on one of the selected documents and select PRINT
Word will load each one and print them out. I don't have many special print function on my...
That means that each user has their own login for Novell and every machine has two profiles (ADMIN and the user).
Try this:
* Get your file working again on your machine as you.
* Shut Down
* Start it up and log in as the user for novell and as YOU for the workstation
* Try the file.
If it...
Ok. So the problem occurs when the other person updates the links on your file. The question that needs to be answered is: Which component is changing the links? It could be a Novell setting but I doubt it, because you didn't mention any Novell changes since switching machines. That would...
