importing into outlook contacts

I have an Excel file or csv file full of email addresses how to import into outlook...
( at the moment outlook 97 )

going through the wizard just asks

The required fields listed below were not detected. etc but there is never any required fields listed below...

Outlook typically needs a contact name in order to create a listing. If all you have are one column of email addresses, then there is not enough information to create the contacts. You may be able to get away with it by just copying the column of email addresses and make the header of that new colum 'NAME'. Hope this helps.
