I know the current BAB version is old and will be upgraded soon but so far everything has worked perfect.
Until now when we have to backup a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server in...
Looks like i managed to find some clues about E1311
after some more searching.
In my case re-run did not make any difference so i'll try to reboot the server in some stage to see if it fixes the problem.
Reason:
This message can occur for multiple reasons. The job was started and a system...
Software: Brightstor ARCserve Backup 12.5
OS: Windows Server 2003
What could possibly have caused the following E1311 error:
10.12.2009 07:22:18 E1311 Job Has Crashed. (JOB=5)
So far i haven't been able to find anything anywhere regarding the code E1311 which i think is little strange.

Here is the solution how we managed to get rid of our errors E6012 and E6092:
The room where the servers physically are had a temperature of 24.5 celcius when the problems started.
By decreasing the temperature by 12% down to 21.5C all the errors disappeared.
The very original temperature 21.5C...
Thanks BETuser,
looks like the 11.5 version has something called Fault-tolerant operations which provides continous operation with a defective drive when a drive in a multiple drive library becomes defective by being marked as offline.
Unfortunately since we are still running on version 9 i...
We have BAB 9.0 (2020) running on WIN2000 server combined with 36 slot LTO-2 Ultrium TD2 backup robot through SCSI.

We have BAB 9.0 (2020) running on WIN2000 server combined with 36 slot backup robot through SCSI.
Regarding cleaning cartridges, i recently found out a statement in a document that does not really make sense:
"If a cleaning cartridge is in one of the slots, check the Tape cleaning slot...
Thanks.
Unfortunately it looks like this is not possible in version 9 since the "Retry Missed Targets" option can only be selected for Rotation Schemes, but not for Custom Schedule. We are using Custom Schedule.
Found out that in version 11 this is possible in Custom too...
We have BAB 9.0 (2020) running on WIN2000 server combined with 36 slot backup robot through SCSI.
For the last couple of years, lets say once in every 3 months, we do get errors during backup:

E3712 2006/11/08...
Actually i was wrong, it clearly helps to see own posts in written to see the real problem :)
'Bar code reader installed'
-> this has to be of course YES instead of NO
Confusion seems to make one blind to own mistakes :)
Thanks, problem solved!
Tried running Device Configuration again just in case.
No related settings can be found there.
'Tape cleaning slot installed'
-> this has always been YES
'Bar code reader installed'
-> this has always been NO
'LIbrary Quick Initialization'
-> this has always been NO
Any ideas?
How can i get...

I always thought that Inventory (Regular) needs to be run after an Export (to me same applies to eg.Erase) ie. that it was the way to "tell" the library that the tape has been removed (or erased) from the library; but as i said earlier,i could be completely wrong assuming this.
The main...
We use BrightStor ArcServe Backup for Windows 9.01
What is the correct way to Export tapes from Tape Library?
This is how we do it currently:
1) we start by doing an Export as follows:
