Hi,

we have BrigthStor ARCserve Backup Version 9.0 (Build 2020) running on WIN2000 server
and ADIC Scalar 100 LTO2 36 slot backup robot connected to this server with SCSI cable.

This combination has run fine now for the last couple of years.
A month ago though the SCSI cable got loose from the robot during some cleaning in the same room.

This required the re-configuration through ArcServe Device Configuration so that ArcServe
again identified the robot and started working again; well almost like before anyway.

Since that, the Quick Import is not possible anymore, the toggle selection is disabled/greyed out,
and only the Regular Import is possible.
The server has been rebooted just in case and the tapes have been inventoried several times
but the problem remains the same; Quick Import is disabled.

No hardware/software changes in this environment this year so that is not the reason for this behaviour.

How can i get the Quick Import back again?
What is the main cause behind this behaviour?

Kind regards KaJuHe

Try running Device Configuration again and check the settings there.

Tried running Device Configuration again just in case.
No related settings can be found there.

'Tape cleaning slot installed'
-> this has always been YES
'Bar code reader installed'
-> this has always been NO
'LIbrary Quick Initialization'
-> this has always been NO

Any ideas?

Actually i was wrong, it clearly helps to see own posts in written to see the real problem :)

'Bar code reader installed'
-> this has to be of course YES instead of NO

Confusion seems to make one blind to own mistakes :)

Thanks, problem solved!
