I'm new to LDAP queries, and am far more versed in SQL but i have the following LDAP query:
<LDAP://DC=ourdomain,DC=co,DC=uk>;(objectClass=person);sn,givenNmae,mail,samAccountName,title,department,telephoneNumber;subtree
what i want to do is stick "WHERE...

thanks ksukenny,
i have now checked that, this is what we have!
we only have one GPO, and that is at the root level of our domain.
the authenticated users group has read/apply permissions as well.
i also tried adding the 'everyone' group and gave it read&apply, but still no change.
but...
Hi all,
due to some recent changes we have made to our intranet setup, there is the need to change a few settings for IE.
these are setting the home page URL to a new location, and also changing the proxy server and port number.
so, i have added the required modifications to the root domain...
cheers loopy....
the reason i want to know is because we are having some problems with some one of our domain controllers, problem is we cant be sure which one.
the above suggestion would be great had it already been in place ;)
what i'm looking for is an app that can tell me how many users...
Is there anyway of finding out which DC has logged a user on.
going to each machine and doing 'echo %logonserver%' is gonna take a bit long with 500 machines, especially as when it can change in a couple of seconds, is there anyway of doing it centrally???
cheers all,
as snootalop says, your gonna have fun cracking this one without installing a nt/2k server!
you say all the users have roaming profiles, and that they are stored on an AS400...how have you done this, i'm not aware of any such method :)
ok, this is nicks brief guide to NT networking

Hello all, please bear with me i'm still (relativly) new to linux! ;)
Here is the problem, at my work we have a number of routers that connect different offices together (isdn routers, LES & dsl internet connection) The network is largely w2k based with several 9x clients just for good measure...
i think the reason that your newly partioned drive couldn't be used was because of the SID (security ID) If you format a drive under 2k or XP it will put that systems SID into the filesystem, so it can be used for protecting ACL resources.
so when you try to install a new os it will find an sid...
Strangely, it seems that when the printer is shared using MS file/print sharing the print server (that is the windows box rather than the jet direct) needs to have its parallel port set to “Bi-Directional ECP” mode even though neither the printer, nor anything else is connected to it.
Perhaps...
not really a VB problem i know, so forgive me if you feel this post is out of place.
After receiving our new HP Laserjet 4100DTN, and downloading the "Printer Status & Alerts" application from HP, it seems that the JetDirect servers are able to advertise the level of consumables...
hi all,
i need to check the windows registry to see if a program is installed, and what version is running.
from what i've read on the subject, there seems to be no way of doing this simply through flash....so.....i propose to knock up a simple a vb app that can open up the registry and...
Ok, now i'd just like to say that i have not tried this, and therefor am not certain that this will work (I've got XP Pro) but i have a suspicion that this 'Could' work (its the same prinicple that you have to use when uninstalling that darn windows messenger!!! ;o)
Apparently IIS is on the XP...
i cant see any reason it should, the two OS's should happily sit side by side with no interaction between them, however it would be easier to install a third party WWW server, than tempt fate by running two Microsoft OS's!
;)

i'd be very concerend about running a mish-mash of files from different os's to get IIS running!!!
if you only want PHP, and MYSQL you could try apache, but if it comes to it you can still run Chilli ASP!
