Thanks itsp1965.
Ran Process Explorer as suggested and there does not appear to be anything unusual going on. Backup Exec is running, we use Trend Micro Worry Free Business Server and the Exchange information store is using its customary large amount of memory.
All of the processes spawned...
My Windows SBS 2003 server with SP2 and reasonably up to date with updates has been running since June without a reboot and running perfectly smoothly. I am now starting to get a threshold warning for the lsass.exe process allocating too much memory (threshold warning was 104857600 bytes) and...
I have a DNS issue that I hope someone can help me with.
Unfortunately, my internal and external domains have the same name (companyname.com) and I cannot access our externally hosted web site from within the domain. The only way I can access it is by entering its full URL including the...
Thanks Crowtalks
Even if that is the scenario surely there is something that they can do to redirect our 'old' IP address to whatever block of new IP addresses they have? Isn't that what happens anyway with a static IP address? It just gets redirected to the ISP provider's server?
My company's ISP provider (TDS Metrocom) have just called me to inform me that they are going to "retire" our static IP address that we have had for years and years. They state that the servers that they are running are being decommissioned and the IP addresses are not transferable.
To me this...
Thanks for the reply, but I cannot even connect to the server internally and this is without going via the VPN connection. I have tried connecting via the IP address and server.domain-name with the same result. Could it be related to access via port 3389 (RDP) and the VPN setup in some way...
I have just setup the VPN connection on our W2K SBS server and it works sweet. Only downside is that since then I am unable to connect to the server via Remote Desktop Web Connection and get the error:
'The client could not establish a connection to the remote computer...'
Prior to the VPN...
Running W2K server, XP and W2K clients. I need to create a group policy that allows only ONE user to logon, have the option to only run Internet Explorer, then to logoff.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
I have the same problem. My BE 9.0 and 9.1 servers all show 11:00 pm backups due to start at 10:00 pm. The schedule details all show 11:00 pm. The backups seem to run at the correct time, but it is annoying! Rebooting did not fix the problem.
Using BE 9.1 + Oracle Agent. I have enough of a time window to allow me to do an offline and online Oracle database backup overnight. I would like to do the offline and online backups on to ONE tape for disaster recovery purposes.
What I'm thinking is to set the time of the offline backup to...
Using BE 9.1 Oracle Agent to backup Oracle 9i Rel 2. It works fine, but my question is what Oracle files do I have to EXCLUDE when I perform a normal (non-Oracle agent) backup. I want to avoid the unnecessary copying of duplicate files, but I also want to make sure I do not miss anything!
I...
Running BE 9.0 Rev 4367.
Had email notification set up ages ago for job completions. Was running sweetly, then all of a sudden I start getting TWO email notifications for each job.
Not earth-shattering I know, but very annoying! Anyone any ideas?
Alex
Thanks for reply. My reasons are:
1. Old server with very limited disk space,
2. No Backup Exec Oracle Agent,
3. The database is not in use 24/7,
4. Short term solution until hardware & software upgrades later this year.
I realise the implications of stopping/starting database and a...
I had this problem - scheduled updates failed but manual update ran ok - and it was resolved by reinstalling LiveUpdate on the server. Worked fine after that. You should also check Symantec web site and download the latest version of LiveUpdate.
I have had no problems whatsoever after upgrading from 8.6 to 9.0 and existing backups (including Exchange) ran fine without any modification. I like the interface which I find intuitive and easy to navigate. "Completed with errors" message, which really annoyed in the past, is now...
