Is your firewall blocking that port? Have you checked that your router is set up correctly to allow incoming trafic on that port? That is if you have one.
Yes, you can order the CD from microsoft, that Is what I did, and installed it on both of my XP Pro computers. It has done nothing but usless stuff. Constantly blocking ports that are needed to comunicate between my computer and the server, and is a usless upgrade.
Dont waste your time
I had this problem and was trying to find a cure for a while. The solution for me was to change the memory, as my motherboard only supported DDR 333 With a 333FSB CPU. This could be the solution for you.
