There was a reg fix for5 this problem after sp4 or 5 and since 6 installs 4 and 5. I remember that there was a reg key that had to be deleted. This was a Citrix fix I will look to see if I can find the info.
Try changing the desktop back ground in the citrix session and then logout of the citrix session and off the desktop then log back in and see if the background changes.
Okay for clarification. Are you saying that if the user changes a setting it remains changed? Or are you saying that that the user logs off and back on and all of the windows from the previous session would be open?

You are suppose to create seperate profiles for the terminal server. You use the Terminal server Profile path to specify where they get their Terminal server profile and the User Profile path for their regular domain environment
The reason I asked if it was an IBM is because I have a similiar problem. IBM uses seagate tape drives. Ibm has a flash upgrade for the tape drive to fix the problem, but since yours is not an IBM I would check with Seagate to see if there are any firmware upgrades for your tape drive.
I not have see this, but does it happen on all client logins or just a few or one? If ony a few or one have you tried deleting the profile and allowing it to rebuild to see if the problem goes away?
This could also mean that the user you are trying to shadow has a higher screen resolution than you have. For instance if you are running at 640x480 and the person you are trying to shadow is running at 800x600 you would receive this error.
If you have no remote printers set up on the server you will have to do a makedev rlp after completing this you will have to do a rlpconf and add the printer then you will have to edit the /etc/printcap file and change the rp="printername" to rp=text
